About Your Photographer

Hello, I'm Amanda!

I am the owner and photographer of Earth Below Photo, based out of Flagstaff, Arizona and Chicago, IL. In 2012, I began my journey of photographing portraits and have not stopped since. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Anthropology and Photojournalism; capturing the human experience is my EXPERTISE. I even practiced 3D Photography at the Field Museum in my home region of Chicago, IL!

You can find me roaming throughout the Southwest and beyond in my Wrangler and Sprinter Van. I am an avid hiker with a love for matcha lattes, vintage shopping, and celebrating Halloween year-round. On my editing days, I’m probably jamming out to my favorite playlist and binge watching That ‘70s Show or Gilmore Girls.

Adventurous portraits for elopements, couples, weddings, families and engagements, are my personal favorite. The earth and all it has to offer inspires these portraits, with the intention that it inspires you as well. I hope to share an adventure with you very soon!

Feeling the earth's soil below our feet–spring up with every step–is what pulls us closer to nature and this planet's beauty. Find us roaming the evergreen forests, desert dwelling, whirling through wildflower meadows, floating in waterfall sanctuaries, and arms-to-the-sky atop a mountain's peak. Curl your toes into the soil, feel the earth below your feet, and take in every drop of beauty this planet has to offer; because, moments like those are what we strive to capture and bring to your photo session. Amanda is passionate and loves doing what she’s doing. She was absolutely perfect and the best. It was like we knew her for years she jumped right into our wedding party and helped make it the best day of our life. We had a blast and our photos turned out absolutely stunning. She was a life save as our photographer that we booked had a family emergency 2 weeks before our wedding and was forced to cancel. With 2 weeks notice and an out of state wedding we ended up talking with Amanda and she was up for the challenge and excited about it! We had planned a trip to Arizona from Pennsylvania and decided to get our engagement pictures done. From the start Amanda gave us suggestions of places for engagement pictures (and breweries) since we had never been to Arizona. Amanda was on board to hike up Cathedral Rock, and I’m glad we took her suggestion. She is very down to earth which immediately made us comfortable and at ease. The pictures turned out perfect! We wanted someone to capture us hiking in the beautiful surroundings, and she did just that. She helped us look natural in the photos with her directions and fun personality. The pictures were vibrant and really captured the two of us perfectly. She even made some GIFs of us. We could not have asked for a better experience or photographer! Thanks again!
